Format of Presentations


Paper presentations and case studies will be held parallel sessions.
Posters will be exhibited at the conference venue on November 27 (Day 2).


(1) Paper Presentations (Oral)

  • Each session will be 90 minutes, and consist of presentations of four papers with each being allocated 20 minutes. (incl. 5 minutes Q & A)
  • At the end of each session, there will also be a 10-minute discussion.
  • Presenters may distribute notes / handouts / papers during their sessions.

(2) Case Study (Oral)

  • This session will be 90 minutes, with a focus on 2 or 3 cases four cases.
  • This is particularly for the presentation of lesson studies and experiments in classroom practices by the teachers / researchers involved.
  • Presenters may distribute notes / handouts / papers during their presentations.

(3) Poster Presentations (Theoretical and Practical)

  • These will be posters on case studies or research findings. They will be displayed on November 27 (Day 2).
  • Each presentation can use a maximum of 2 panels. Each panel has the following dimensions: 90 cm (width) x 210 cm (height)

Note:

1) For paper presentations and case studies, the following audio-visual equipment will be provided:


  • PC with Windows 7 or XP, equipped with Microsoft Office 2007
  • USB connection
  • CD-ROM drive + DVD
  • LCD projector

2) Symposia will be proposed by Organizing Committee of WALS 2011
