The University of Tokyo

We offer programs for undergraduate and graduate students within the Faculty of Education (Undergraduate Program) and the Graduate School of Education (Graduate Program). Our mission includes the following goals: to conduct advanced research in education; to train academic researchers and professionals in education; to nurture administrative officials, social education supervisors, school administrators, and other professional leaders; and to offer guidance for training teachers in the secondary schools affiliated with the University of Tokyo.

Our research and teaching cover the vast range of the field of education in multiple disciplines, such as curriculum development for improving the quality of education, analysis of policies and guidelines for educational institutions, cross-cultural comparison of educational institutions through fieldwork, and laboratory research into mechanisms of learning in human development. Supported by both private and public grants, our faculty members pursue research to explore new horizons for future generations.
