 | We welcome foreign students who would like to study and research educational sciences with us. Most classes are given in Japanese. Foreign students are required to be able to read, write, and speak Japanese fluently. Foreign students with the Graduate School of Education take classes and are basically evaluated in the same manner as Japanese students. We have a little different university educational system from those in other countries. So for general education and admission information you have to refer to "Introduction to the University of Tokyo" and "Admissions to the University of Tokyo" pages of the University of Tokyo International Center at first. The Graduate School of Education, The University of Tokyo offers Master's program, Ph.D. program, and Foreign Research Student Program. Please be advised that applicants should consult our Webpage or contact the Graduate Student Office of the Graduate School of Education in order to get detailed admission information and application forms. Candidates for the Foreign Research Student Program are sometimes already enrolled in a Ph.D. program outside of Japan. This program is most appropriate for students whose theses necessitate research in Japan. The Foreign Research Student Program is not preparatory education for entering the Master's and Ph.D. programs. Application forms for the Foreign Research Student Program are available any time by written request only. The time of Entrance is April 1 or October 1. The deadline for completed application is October of the previous year (for April entrance) or April (for October entrance). For more detailed information on the program, please contact the Graduate Student Office of the Graduate School of Education. | | | |
