Current Projects

  1. Phase synchronization-desynchronization and perceptual dynamics
  2. Manipulative approach to neural synchrony by Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and EEG recordings
  3. Stochastic resonance (SR) within the human brain

Noise can play a constructive role in information transfer via a mechanism known as stochastic resonance (SR), whereby the response of a nonlinear system to a weak input signal is optimized by the presence of a nonzero level of noise. I investigate SR in the human brain - in particular SR in visual perception , auditory perception, crossmodal perception.

  4. SR and large-scale sycnrhonization of human brain activity

I investigate large-scale synchronization of human brain activity (EEG potential and Scalp current density) as a possible mechanism of behavioral or perceptuals SR.

  5. Higher cognitive functions and SR. SR in multi-stable perception (attention, ambiguous figures etc..)
  6. Ongoing activity and the brain.
